The Egyptian Russian University Celebrates Egyptian Mothers and Women
Under the patronage of Professor / Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the Egyptian Russian University (ERU), the university organized an event for honoring Egyptian mothers and women. The event conforms with the efforts exerted by the Egyptian state for supporting Egyptian women, who are fundamental shareholders in the state’s comprehensive development plan. The Egyptian state, thus, places women in a position that befits their value, capacities and sacrifices which they continuously manifest throughout history.
The event coincides with Women’s Month and Egypt’s celebrations of the Mother’s Day. It was attended by a number of faculty members, students and employees of the university. The celebration was also honored by the presence of the parents and mothers of some students, Engineer / Ghada Farag, a member of the Board of Trustees of Badr City, and a group of distinguished women from the city. The event included the following activities:
- A presentation on the importance of women and their role in society and on psychological support for women, delivered by Dr. Soha Samir, Director of the University’s Psychological Counseling Unit.
- A display of the works of the students who participated in the Mother’s Day competition, where the winners were honored in the presence of their mothers. The winners are:
- Student / Rodayna Mohamed Saad (Faculty of Pharmacy) won for her short story “A Mother’s Struggle”.
- Student / Hazem Akram Abd-el-Hamid (Faculty of Fine Arts) won for his short film about his mother’s role in his life.
- Student / Ruqayya Mohamed Salem (Faculty of Pharmacy) won for her short story “Jasmine”.
- Honoring a number of the university’s inspiring female students:
- Student / Nada Mamdouh (Faculty of Fine Arts) for her participation in the International Contemporary Ceramics Salon at the Museum of the City of Tunis inTunisia
- Student / Asmaa Mohamed Al-Sayed Baz (Faculty of Artificial Intelligence) for representing the ERU in the Sixth Edition of the Arab Youth Leadership Development Program at the University of Sharjah
- A display of the best five congratulation cards containing touching messages from students to their mothers.
- Honoring exemplary women from Badr City.
- Honoring “Ideal Mothers” from among university staff: Bekhita Ahmed Abd-el-Rahim, Ebtesam Al-Sayed, Sabreen Abd-el-Gawwad, Hanan Sayed Zaky, Yasmine Kadry Ahmed, Fatima Sabry, Ghalia Abd-el-Fattah and Basma Hassan
- The ERU Choir also participated in the event with a special lyrical performance about “mother”, performed by the student / Seif Alaa (Faculty of Dentistry) and the student / Nada Mamdouh (Faculty of Fine Arts).
- The event was concluded with a commemorative photo session.
