The Egyptian Russian University obtains ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Certificates… documented

Professor / Sherif Fahkry Mohamed Abd-el-Naby, President of the Egyptian Russian University (ERU), announced that the university has obtained the “ISO 45001 and ISO 14001” certificates from the Egyptian Accreditation Council “EGAC”; which ensures the achievement of the requirements of the two aforementioned specifications in the fields of “occupational safety and health” and “environmental management.” It also contributes to raising the university’s international ranking. He pinpointed that the university’s obtaining of these prestigious international certificates came with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Al-Sayed Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.

     The ERU President praised the outstanding efforts of all members of the “Quality Assurance Department”, which is the principal body responsible for ensuring the accomplishment of the highest academic and administrative quality standards within the university, and their continuous work throughout the past months to complete the requirements for the international accreditation for the “ISO 45001 and ISO 14001” certificates, which contributed to accomplishing this great achievement for the university. He thanked the relevant university departments for the efforts which they exerted to facilitate the work of the Accreditation Committee while inspecting the university capacities: “human, material, and technological infrastructure” within the university campus and during the inspection of the quality assurance system until the accreditation certificates were obtained.

     In the same context, Dr. Mohamed Omar Hendy, Director of the Quality Assurance Department and Head of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee at the ERU, confirmed that the Quality Assurance Department has been recently established, which is the main body responsible for ensuring the accomplishment of the highest administrative quality standards within the university; in line with the national and international standards for accreditation and quality assurance. The department focuses on developing institutional performance through continuous evaluation and sustainable improvement. He pointed out that these certificates were obtained in cooperation with QB Cert Company, headed by Dr. Tamer Al-Kurdy.

     The Director of the Quality Assurance Department and Head of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee at the University added that the ERU’s obtaining of the international accreditation for “ISO 45001 and ISO 14001” certificates proves that the university and its faculties work according to the international standards of universal universities. He pointed out that this accreditation contributes to the advancement of the university and its faculties in the approved international rankings, in addition to gaining the trust of students’ parents in academic study within the university campus, in accordance with the highest standards of advanced countries in the “field of university education, scientific research, and model management.”

     On her part, Ms. / Ekram Mohamed Abd-el-Hamid, ERU Secretary General, stated that this step comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts of the university management to achieve one of its most important strategic goals, namely, to reach a prestigious position at the regional and international levels among the world’s universities. She asserted that all the relevant departments of the university have removed all obstacles facing the committees during their visit for the accreditation of the “ISO 45001 and ISO 14001” certificates. Technical and administrative support was provided by: “collecting the required data, coordinating between the joint departments to achieve the accreditation goal, furnishing the supporting documents and evidence for obtaining the accreditation, and providing all the required financial and human resources.”

     The ERU’s Secretary General highlighted that the university management sought to obtain the certificate of “International Standard ISO 45001” for occupational safety and health, and the certificate of “International Standard ISO 14001” for environmental management. The university management members were trained by “QB CERT” Company to deal with these two specifications. The internal and external audits were conducted, and the university’s qualification and entitlement to obtain these certificates were proven after fulfilling all the requirements for the ISO certificates.

     The celebration of obtaining the “ISO 45001 and ISO 14001” certificates was attended by Dr. Essam Khamis, Advisor to the University President for Academic Development, Dr. Ehab Fattouh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Khaled Tawfik, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Alaa Mohamed Al-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Makarem Al-Ghamry, Dean of the Faculty of Languages, Dr. Gamil Abdullah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, in addition to a large number of faculty members, prominent figures of higher education and scientific research, and leaders of the university’s administrative body.

     It is worth mentioning that this accomplishment came also as a fruit of the participation of Dr. Mohamed Omar Hendy, Director of the Quality Assurance Department and Head of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee, Dr. Ahmed Said, Director of the Environmental Monitoring Unit, Colonel / Mohamed Youssef Al-Sharkawy, Head of the Security Service, and Mr. Mohamed Qasem Behiry, Occupational Safety and Health Manager. The departments that performed an effective role in the work of the Quality Assurance Department for obtaining these certificates are the Human Resources Department, headed by Dalia Farouk, Systems and Information Technology Department, headed by Engineer / Emad Farouk, Agriculture and Beautification Department, headed by Engineer / Mohamed Waheed, and Procurement Department, headed by Omar Al-Moazzamy.”
