Aiming at refining, developing and enriching scientific and practical experiences in the field of specialization, the Scientific Conference of the Department of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy was held on Wednesday, 8th of March, 2023, at the University Theatre. This came under the auspices of Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the University, and Dr. Ehab Fattouh, Dean of the Faculty, and under the supervision of Dr. Omaima El-Gendy, Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy at the faculty, and the organization of the department’s staff members and teaching staffmembers.

A group of professors of pharmacognosy at the faculties of pharmacy in Egyptian universities attended the conference as they presented the latest updates in this field. It is worth mentionimg that the first, second and fifth year students’ presentations were well received by the audience.

The conference was honored by the presence of Dr Essam Khamis, Vice President of the University, Dr. Maher El Domyati, President of Zagazig University, former Governor of Beni Suef, and Chairman of the Pharmacy Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Abdel Nasser Sengab, former Vice President of Ain Shams University for Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Azza El-Shafei, Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Zagazig University, and Dr. Safwat Ahmed,Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Suez Canal University, and President of the Ismailia Pharmacists Syndicate, Moreover, among the audience were Dr. Khaled Moselhy, Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University, Dr. Amani Kamal, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Postgraduate Studies, Suez Canal University, Dr. Mohamed El-Gendy, Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Helwan University, deans of the faculties of the university, and a group of faculty members, teaching staff, and students at the Faculty of Pharmacy.
