Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdelnabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the Faculty of Applied Arts organized a scientific and cultural seminar titled: “Contemporary Design Concepts,” presented by Dr. Mohamed Ezzat Saad, Professor of Design at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Helwan University, and Visiting Professor for Design Theories at the University of Wuppertal in Germany. This comes as part of the university’s strategy to provide opportunities for faculty members and students to engage academically and exchange expertise with renowned scholars in various fields, contributing to the preparation of graduates qualified for the local and international job market. He pointed out that the seminar was supported by Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mostafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.

In the same context, Dr. Ezz Eldin Abdelaziz Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts at the Egyptian Russian University, explained that this seminar contributed to building scientific, artistic, and practical knowledge related to design theories relevant to the fields of applied arts. He noted that this seminar is part of the educational methodology adopted by the faculty across all departments to transfer expertise and advanced academic knowledge from top university professors in major developed countries in education and scientific research. This highlights the importance of interaction between students and faculty members, whether from inside or outside the faculty.

The Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts at the Egyptian Russian University added that such seminars enrich the students’ cumulative knowledge base and increase their chances of engaging with various fields of work after graduation. It also helps enhance their ability to innovate in design projects during their studies, as they are exposed to diverse teaching methods, both “local and international,” through the university’s faculty members who maintain connections with scientific schools around the world as a result of agreements and joint protocols with international universities.

In a related context, Dr. Ezz Eldin Abdelaziz Hassan stated that, on the sidelines of the seminar, faculty members, teaching assistants, and students who participated in the scientific conference at Izhevsk State Technical University in the Russian Federation were honored. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to each of them, as well as to the students who won the Best Bridge Model (BBM) competition organized by the Construction Department of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University.
