International and Technical Achievements of Cadres of Faculty of Management, Economics and Business Technology at Egyptian Russian University... photos
Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abd-el-Naby, President of the Egyptian Russian University (ERU), announced that, within the framework of the continuous pursuit of academic excellence, and in fulfillment of the university’s strategy to support young innovators and hone their skills in accordance with international standards, in a manner that serves the goals of sustainable development and reinforces Egypt’s international competitiveness in the fields of advanced technology, the university emphasizes that investing in young minds is the main driver of good education. The university also highlights the importance of the role performed by universities as true incubators for minds, which do not only consume technology, but take part in creating and developing it for a smarter and more sustainable future. Within this framework, teaching assistants from the Faculty of Management, Economics and Business Technology were able to achieve a set of global accomplishments, which demonstrates clearly the university’s leadership in the fields of artificial intelligence. Dr. Sherif pinpointed that these achievements were supported by Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.
On her part, Dr. Al-Tahera Hameya, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Business Technology at the ERU, pointed out that Teaching Assistant/ Abd-el-Fattah Ayman from the Business Technology Department represented the faculty at the “4th Global Youth Forum” in Japan, which was hosted by the Japanese capital, Tokyo, at Chuo University. She pinpointed that the forum is a high-level international platform organized in cooperation between the Japanese Ministry of Justice and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). It aimed at enabling young people to contribute to formulating recommendations to be presented to the Fifteenth United Nations Conference scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi in 2026, with the participation of Ministers of Justice from various countries around the world. She added that participation and attendance were allowed remotely due to the current circumstances related to air travel, while continuing to interact in the various sessions.
In the same context, the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Business Technology at the ERU added that this year’s forum came under the title: “The Role of Youth and Society in Social Reintegration.” It focused on developing innovative digital solutions to reintegrate the most vulnerable groups. She also mentioned that Teaching Assistant/ Abd-el-Fattah Ayman was chosen as the leader of the first team, where he managed the discussions within his group, coordinated work between participants from various international backgrounds, and contributed to preparing the final recommendations. Dr. Al-Tahera also stated that the forum was inaugurated with the participation of Princess Tsuguko of Takamado, a member of the Japanese Imperial Family, and hosted a select group of international academics and experts, including:
– Dr. Soichi Noguchi, former, Astronaut and Professor at the Advanced Research Center for Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo.
– Counselor/ Bertram Schmitt, Former Judge at the International Criminal Court.
– Dr. Ko Shikata, Professor at Chuo University.
The Dean of the College of Management, Economics, and Business Technology pinpointed that, in another scientific achievement demonstrating the faculty’s ability to innovate and compete globally in technical fields, Teaching Assistant Abd-el-Rahman Mahmoud, Teaching Assistant in the Business Technology Department and a graduate of the first cohort of the Business Analytics program – successfully developed an open-source software library called “ml-evaluator.” This library aims at simplifying the evaluation of machine learning models, and its most prominent features include:
- Measuring the accuracy of metrics by applying indicators (Accuracy, F1-score, ROC-AUC).
- Providing clear textual and visual illustrations of outcomes.
- Analyzing “overfitting and underfitting” cases.
- Being available for developers worldwide via GitHub and PyPI platforms.
Dr. Al-Tahera Hameya added that Teaching Assistant/ Abd-el-Rahman Mahmoud achieved a second global accomplishment by obtaining the title of “Keggel Expert”, and that Keggel Platform, owned by Google, is considered a pioneering platform for data scientists and analysts. She also noted that this crowning came as a result of the Teaching Assistant’s arduous efforts in learning and developing analytical models and his active participation in international competitions on the platform.
The Dean of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Business Technology extended her sincere congratulations to the Department of Business Technology, wishing all the young university cadres continued success and excellence, and always raising the university’s name in technical forums.
