Organized by Faculty of Management, Economics, and Business Technology, Egyptian Russian University holds a seminar on the role of Competition Protection and Anti-Monopoly Authority… photos

Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abd-el-Naby, President of the Egyptian Russian University (ERU), announced that the Faculty of Management, Economics and Business Technology at the university organized a seminar to introduce the role of the “Competition Protection and Anti-Monopoly Practices Authority” affiliated with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, in cooperation with the leaders of the Authority. He pinpointed that the seminar was held with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, as part of the university’s strategy to link the academic aspect with practical reality, and to develop students’ skills through interacting with major governmental and supervisory bodies.

In the same context, Dr. Al-Tahera Al-Sayed Hameyah, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Economics, and Business Technology at the ERU, explained that the session was attended by Accountant/ Yehia Roumeeh, Head of the Investigation Department at the Authority, and that the seminar was coordinated by Ms. Heba Sherif, Public Relations Specialist at the Authority. She noted that the seminar addressed several key topics, most notably:

“The concept of monopoly and its forms,” ​​and its negative impact on markets and consumers.

“Mechanisms for protecting competition” and securing a fair and transparent market environment.

“The Egyptian legal framework” regulating the competition.

“Penalties decided” to be imposed on those who engage in monopolistic practices.

“The role of the supervisory body” in receiving complaints, conducting investigations, and imposing corrective measures.

The Dean of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Business Technology at the ERU asserted that these partnerships embody the faculty’s mission to develop students’ skills and prepare them for the labor market, praising the level of interaction and distinguished attendance of the students.

Dr. Al-Tahera Al-Sayed Hameyah added that the seminar activities were held in coordination with Dr. Nehad Hosny Youssef, Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community, Environment and Scientific Research Affairs, in cooperation with the Accounting Department, and were organized by the organizing team at the faculty, and Teaching Assistant/ Mohamed Gamal from the Economics Department at the faculty.

In a practical step to enhance the future of graduates, Accountant/ Yehia Roumeeh, Head of the Investigation Department at the Competition Protection and Anti-Monopoly Practices Authority, announced that summer training opportunities will be provided for students of the third and fourth years at the faculty, in addition to employment-oriented training opportunities for graduates of the Department of Economics and Data Analysis. He pointed out that this came as part of reinforcing academic and professional cooperation with the university.
