ERU Pharmacy Students Participate in the Future Fighters Against AMR 2026 Program
As part of the Egyptian Russian University’s (ERU) commitment to supporting its students and enhancing their scientific and professional skills, two students from the Faculty of Pharmacy participated in the Future Fighters Against AMR 2026 program, held from 31 August to 4 September 2026 under the One Health Approach.
The program was conducted in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), and ReAct Africa, with the participation of students from several Egyptian universities and different academic disciplines. The program aims to strengthen the knowledge and skills required to contribute to addressing Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).
The Egyptian Russian University was represented by:
* Haneen Hossam Helal – Pharm D Program, Third Level, Faculty of Pharmacy.
* Roaa Magdy Abdelsalam – Pharm D Clinical Program, Third Level, Faculty of Pharmacy.
The students participated under the academic supervision of Pharmacist/Marah Hussein, Demonstrator at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Egyptian Russian University.
The five-day training program included lectures, workshops, and interactive activities addressing key aspects of Antimicrobial Resistance, including its global and regional burden, responsible antimicrobial use, antimicrobial stewardship in human and veterinary settings, and the roles of pharmacists and veterinarians in addressing AMR.
The program also covered communication and community engagement, leadership and advocacy, as well as the development of action plans and initiatives to address AMR and strengthen partnerships within the One Health framework.
This participation reflects the Egyptian Russian University and Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to providing students with valuable educational and professional opportunities, encouraging their engagement in initiatives addressing contemporary health challenges, and developing their scientific, practical, and leadership skills to contribute effectively to society.
