Egyptian Russian University Student and His Team Win "Kreativa" Competition

Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdelnabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that student “Adham Abdel Fattah” from the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University and his team “SOUL” won first place in the “Kreativa” (KERATIVA) competition, held at the “Creativity Center” in Ismailia Governorate. He noted that the student participated in the competition with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mostafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, as part of the activation of the protocol signed between the Egyptian Russian University and “Creativa,” the company that organized the competition. “Creativa” is considered one of the leading companies in modern technology fields.

The President of the Egyptian Russian University explained that the university administration constantly seeks to develop students’ skills and enhance their abilities by participating in “local and international” competitions. This aims to enable them to master modern technology and meet the increasing demand for these skills in the job market, whether “local, regional, or global.” He stated that Team “SOUL” deservedly secured first place among more than (90) student teams, with the participation of over 200 students from various universities, including “governmental, private, national, and higher institutes.”

In the same context, Dr. Alaa Mohamed Al-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, pointed out that most of the competing teams consisted of (3 to 5) members. They competed in designing and implementing a robot capable of performing three main tasks:
1- Picking up and transporting objects (Pick and Place).
2- Line following.
3- Obstacle avoidance.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University stated that the performance of the robots was tested in three different arenas. The participants were also evaluated based on their team presentations, which covered technical aspects, business strategies, and how to transform the project into a startup company by identifying the target customer. He emphasized that one of the main objectives of student participation in the competition is to foster teamwork and knowledge exchange among students from different faculties and specializations.

Dr. Shaimaa Mostafa Gaber, Head of the Communications Department at the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, confirmed that the department places great importance on student projects. This is aimed at fostering creativity, promoting a culture of innovation, transferring knowledge, acquiring and sharing skills, and embedding an entrepreneurial mindset among students.

She also highlighted the names of the “SOUL” team members who won first place in the “Kreativa” (KERATIVA) competition:
1- Student “Adham Abdel Fattah,” from the Communications Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Egyptian Russian University.
2- Student “Hazem Abdel Fattah,” from the Egyptian Japanese University.
3- Student “Omar Ayman Mohamed,” from Zagazig University.
4- Student “Moataz Rafik Hamdi,” from Zagazig University.

Additionally, the Head of the Communications Engineering Department at the Egyptian Russian University stated that Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Maher, a lecturer in the Communications Engineering Department, supervised the student delegation participating in the “Kreativa” (KERATIVA) competition, which was held at the “Creativity Center” in Ismailia Governorate. She emphasized that winning first place in the “KERATIVA” competition is a significant achievement and a crucial step in enhancing student innovation and creativity, supporting robotics applications across various fields, and contributing to the development of their technological skills to prepare them for the job market.
