As part of the activities of the “Aware Youth” Campaign for the 8th consecutive year… Stars of the TV series “Link” visit the Egyptian Russian University – Photos

Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdelnaby, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced the conclusion of the activities of the “Aware Youth” Campaign, organized by the Egyptian Russian University for the eighth consecutive year, in cooperation with the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction, and the “Youth Without Smoking” Campaign in cooperation with the Medical District in Badr City.
The President of the Egyptian Russian University noted that the celebration was held with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mostafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and was attended by a number of public figures, faculty members, and a large number of students from the various faculties of the university, as well as young stars who portrayed characters in the social TV series “Link.” He added that the closing ceremony witnessed the honoring of a distinguished group of volunteer students from the university who demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment in supporting the objectives of the two campaigns. This recognition came as a culmination of their efforts throughout the period of community awareness, during which they displayed positive energy, a strong sense of patriotism, loyalty to their university, and effective participation that reflected the university’s educational and moral mission in building a generation capable of serving its country.
In the same context, Dr. Hanaa Abdelrahman, Advisor to the Egyptian Russian University for Student Activities, explained that the “Aware Youth” Campaign and the “Youth Without Smoking” Campaign were organized within the framework of the university’s social awareness activities, with the aim of enhancing the role of youth in positive and effective participation in community awareness regarding the risks and harms of smoking and addiction on individuals and society. She added that the activities included visits to several factories in the industrial zone and schools in Badr City, with the purpose of raising awareness among youth and families about the dangers of smoking and drug abuse, and correcting many misconceptions related to drugs. In addition, the campaigns focused on building the capacities of volunteer students in community awareness and education, preparing effective youth cadres, equipping them with the necessary skills to become ambassadors of their university in awareness, positive change, and community development.
Dr. Hanaa Abdelrahman also added that during the closing ceremony, the university’s student theatrical arts team presented a distinguished theatrical performance entitled “The Last Breath,” which was highly appreciated by the audience. The performance addressed the issue of addiction and its destructive effects on youth from three different perspectives, with a remarkable performance that received great interaction from students and attendees. She noted that the ceremony also included an open discussion session filled with questions and interaction between students from different faculties of the university and the stars of the TV series “Link” about the characters of the series and issues of concern to society in general, most notably electronic fraud and drug addiction.
It is worth mentioning that at the end of the ceremony, the following were honored: Dr. Amr Osman, Director of the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction (the shield was received on his behalf by Amira Ragab, Assistant Supervisor of the Preventive Programs Department at the Fund); Mr. Tarek Bilal, Head of the Board of Trustees of the Educational Administrations of Badr and El-Shorouk Cities; and members of the Medical District in Badr City. In addition, the young stars of the TV series “Link” were honored, namely: Farah El-Zahed, Mahmoud Yassin Jr., Lina Sofia, Saad Samir, Zeinab El-Abd, Eliano Mina, Iman Abou El-Dahab (producer of the series), Captain Ahmed Bilal (producer of the series), and journalist and TV presenter Yara Ahmed.
The students who participated in the community awareness activities and truly served as the driving force of the campaign were also honored. They are: Mohand Hossam El-Din Abdel-Gaber, Fady Samy Eskandar, Nofair Sabry Markony, Ahmed Gamal Sayed, Engy Waheed Fathy, Hamdy Mohamed Mohamed, Mariam Mohamed Abdel Salam, Ziad Amr Abdel Shahid, Hena Mohamed, Shereen Hatem, Kenzy Mohamed, Judy Sameh, Rahaf Ahmed, and Basmalah Moamen
