Applied Arts Students at the Egyptian Russian University on a Scientific Visit to "Dar Al-Maaref" and "October" Magazine
Under the directives of Professor Dr. Ezz El-Din Abdel Aziz, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts at the Egyptian Russian University, and as part of the faculty’s commitment to integrating academic learning with practical application, the Printing and Packaging Department organized a field visit for first-year students (Level 2) to the prestigious “Dar Al-Maaref” publishing house and “October” magazine.
The visit was conducted under the supervision of:
*Professor Dr. Nasr Mustafa, Head of the Printing and Packaging Department.
* Dr. Suzanne Farhat, Instructor of the “Training 1” course.
* Teaching Assistant Alaa Hisham.
During the tour, students were introduced to the comprehensive workflow of the printing industry, including:
1. Pre-press Stages: Understanding the preparation of materials before they hit the machines.
2. Color Separation: Learning the technicalities of modern color management.
3. Printing Technologies: Observing Offset printing presses and web-fed (rotary) presses in action.
4. Post-press & Finishing: Examining the binding, finishing processes, and final quality control measures.
